'Vein Of Gold' is the title track from the 2025 EP.
I have included fingering suggestions to assist with the more intricate passages.
The slings and arrows of life can chip away at us over time.
Kitsugi' (meaning "golden repair") is the Japanese art of putting broken items back together with gold, highlighting the imperfections rather than hiding them- beauty in imperfection.
'Vein Of Gold' explores the concept of mending our broken hearts and finding the beauty that dwells within us all. Despite painful moments chipping away at our hearts, we can find healing through new pathways to re-emerge more beautiful than before.

About the 'Vein Of Gold' piece and EP:
The 'Vein Of Gold' is inspired by matters of the heart. The project came about after a sojourn in the beautiful verdant shire of Bellingen, in the hinterland of Coffs Harbour. I stayed in a peaceful retreat called 'The Bellfry' with a stunning view westward, towards 'The Promised Land' mountains. I stayed for a week in Winter. I divided my time between composing in my room, exploring the township and surrounds, with its pristine rivers and rainforests, warming myself by the fire in my favourite restaurant '5 Church Street,' and catching the epic sunsets on the balcony outside my room each day.
All in all, the trip was a journey into my heart, through blessed solitude and an opportunity to appreciate all of God's creation. The completed EP is 6 tracks. I have other pieces in the works inspired by this trip, so I dare say there may be another EP forthcoming, as this trip continues to inspire!
